Our client is recognised as the global leader in the development, design and manufacture of specialised engineering products. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic and progressive company as Procurement Manager – you will be based in an impressive, modern, open-plan office near Deeside.

As the Procurement Manger you will be responsible for developing long term plans to ensure goods and services critical to business objectives are supplied in a timely manner. Managing the purchase of all direct and indirect materials, to achieve optimal cost and quality results. Respecting all regulations and principles of the integrated management system and participating in the building and maintenance of these systems.

Duties and responsibilities:-

Work closely with Innovation and Engineering to ensure channels of supply are at the lowest total cost, not just the lowest purchase price.
Managing the supply base and ensuring this is aligned with business strategy.
Producing an annual Purchasing Plan.
Manage the purchase of direct and indirect materials, negotiating the terms of business relationship.

Achieving the lowest cost of acquisition across multiple suppliers, categories of spend and location.
Ensuring that Terms and Conditions of Purchase are used in all contracts for supply and that these are updated to reflect legal and group requirements.
Establishing Contracts of Supply and Pricing Agreements where applicable for significant suppliers
Maintaining all relevant cost and lead time information required for all major business processes.
Directing the sourcing and evaluation of new suppliers where required, and as part of a continuous improvement philosophy.
Providing the Operations Director with performance reports when required and maintaining departmental metrics.
Attending all company meetings requiring senior purchasing input within all categories of spend.
Chairing Key Supplier Meetings where applicable and maintaining this supplier development strategy.
Compiling and communicating all monthly and quarterly KPIs to senior management.
Establishing training and development needs for the wider procurement community.
Leading all key negotiations.

Experience and skills required:-

Minimum of five years’ experience within a purchasing environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
Working with multiple suppliers and large number of products.
Working with large complex datasets.
Proficient in the use of MS Office and D365 ERP system.
Managing a team centered around problem solving and product availability.
Vendor negotiations.
Undertaking complex and substantial negotiations.
Bachelor’s degree in a business, engineering, or an equivalent discipline desirable.
CIPS Certificate.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills with stakeholders across the business.
Leverage group spends and achieve the lowest Total Acquisition Cost.
Develop and guide suppliers towards providing added value processes, products, and services.
Negotiate with A, B or C class suppliers, on your own or as part of a team.
Strong process analysis and improvement skills.
Knowledge of cost structures and management of business contracts.
Understanding and appreciation of internal controls required for operational and regulatory purposes.
