Technical Manager

As the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical and hygiene functions, ensuring compliance with all quality systems from the supplier to the finished product. Your role is pivotal in guaranteeing full adherence to legislation, food safety, and quality standards, aligning with both company policies and legal requirements.
Technical Manager Key Responsibilities:

Perform quality checks, audits, and continual development of the quality management system to maintain food safety, legality, and product quality.
Lead BRC audits and maintain the document control system.
Ensure thorough understanding and implementation of traceability systems and requirements.
Conduct investigations into all received complaints and ensure their resolution.
Provide training to staff on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, procedures, and conduct competency checks.
Assist with audits and gather necessary information to ensure a professional and organized process.
Ensure all quality, food safety, process, GMP, G&HP, microbiological, and QC checks are carried out according to specific work instructions and company procedures.
Actively participate in HACCP and ensure effective implementation of the site’s HACCP program.
Promote adherence to Food Safety and Quality Systems among all site employees.
Play a pivotal role in driving successful BRC Food Quality Audits and other site customer audits and visits.

Technical Manager Qualifications and Skills:

Ideally possess a degree in Food Science or a relevant discipline.
Proficient in BRC V9 and experienced in conducting internal audits.
Computer literate with strong organisational skills.
Ability to effectively train staff and ensure compliance with procedures.
Excellent understanding of HACCP principles and their practical application.
Strong communication and leadership skills.

Technical Manager’s Salary: £40,000 (DOE) + Bonus Scheme
