Senior HR Advisor – Maternity Cover

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9-5
Working for this established and growing organisation, the Senior HR Advisor will be covering a period of maternity from October 2020 for 9-12 months. The Senior HR Advisor will work as part of the human resources team to work with other department Managers to provide a comprehensive, generalist human resource administration support throughout the group. The company is easily commutable from Liverpool, the Wirral and the surrounding areas.
To apply for the Senior HR Advisor role, you will have a proven background of working in a fast-paced, commercial human resources environment. The HR Advisor will ideally be CIPD Level 7 full or part-qualified. You will also have experience of managing recruitment, appraisals, and disciplinaries.
Key Responsibilities:

To compile, review and maintain staff personnel files on a monthly basis to ensure that all documents required are present in order to fulfil company requirements and to provide reporting for MI
Keep up to date documentation for staff sickness, discipline, grievance, monthly payroll additions, performance management, contractual changes, restructures and general HR matters
Ensure that 3 and 6 month appraisals are carried out by line management and that the Director responsible for the area is satisfied with performance, before final sign off of the probationary period
To maintain employee details ensuring updated and accurate throughout the duration of employment and following their departure from the company
To assist with new staff on-boarding and induction process and ensure they are provided with /complete the necessary documentation
Undertake recruitment and selection tasks in conjunction with the relevant line manager in order to assist the business resource adequately
To manage performance and grievance issues which may arise, completing required documentation
To produce leaver documentation, archive accordingly and escalate any matters for payroll, referring any issues to management
Participate in HR initiatives / projects, conducting research and completing reports as directed
To provide advice and guidance to Managers on the interpretation and implementation of contracts of employment, terms and conditions, legal responsibilities and policies and procedures
Work closely with Managers, coaching and upskilling Managers on all HR related matters
To contribute to the maintenance of the highest standards of professional practice and take responsibility for personal development and keeping abreast of legal developments and human resource best practice and initiatives
To assist with the development, monitoring, updating and implementation of HR policies, procedures and systems, guidance notes and template letters

Essential Skills:

Over 3 years of experience in a commercial HR environment
CIPD level 5 qualified, though CIPD level 7 is preferred
Experience of working in a fast-paced, commercial HR environment is essential
Ability to maintain skills knowledge, particularly relation to Employee Legislation, using own initiative
Excellent ability to motivate self and influence others
Experience of relationship management
Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with staff and management at all levels
Superb negotiation skills when dealing with third parties
Flexible in personal approach
Good problem solving skills
