Editor In Chief


  • Salary: £38,000 - £40,000

We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our fantastic client, for the exciting and exclusive vacancy of Editor in Chief.
The Editor in Chief will report directly to the Managing Director. The position is in place to develop the annual editorial strategy across online, video, social and live events to support the business development strategy.
You will be working closely with sales, event production and marketing to drive the brand forward and deliver high-standard editorial content. The Editor in Chief will also be responsible for producing a monthly journal, daily newsletter, and creating an editorial plan around events. There will also be opportunities to moderate event sessions and host webinars.
Main duties and responsibilities:

Manage the editorial team of 1x online editor and 1x staff reporter – including training, process

implementation, quarterly and annual KPI performance assessment

Develop a deep understanding of the key trends in the supply chain sector
Proof and edit technical papers which appear in the Journal
Oversee and edit content that appears on the website
Maintain the website with necessary content and manage social media activity
Overlook the daily publishing of news and newsletters
Research articles relevant to industry conference topics and exhibitors for website news
Work on multimedia content, video and audio, as part of client deliverables and independent

editorial content

Contribute to agenda brainstorming, finalisation and speaker acquisition for divisional events and


Edit conference brochure and write up post-event reviews to publish online and on social media
Moderate and chair webinars and events

The successful applicant will have:

Degree or equivalent qualification
A minimum of 5 years’ experience gained in a business-to-business editorial environment

(maritime, transport or technology background highly desirable)

Content production experience
Highly organised and professional attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work well in a team but also initiative to work on your own
Good sense for identifying business opportunities, new revenue streams and possibilities to sell

across a whole portfolio

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales
