Working for this established international business, the Buyer will be involved in raw material demand planning, coordination and support of all sourcing and tactical procurement activities and initiatives. The Buyer will achieve sourcing, procurement and supply chain objectives, and support with supplier negotiation, data and spend analysis. With free parking and an early finish on a Friday, the Buyer will be joining a motivated team, who are key to the business’ success story.
 
To apply for the Buyer role, you will have proven experience in a buying, purchasing or procurement role, ideally with a degree or professional qualification (though this is not essential). The Buyer will possess IT skills in in ERP, E-Procurement Solutions as well as high knowledge of Microsoft Office
Due to the location of the office, you will need your own transport.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Raw material demand planning, coordination and support of all sourcing and tactical procurement activities and initiatives
Material management processes for direct and indirect materials and services
Supporting the Procurement Manager and teams to ensure that manufacturing runs in line with established material specifications and schedules, volume, cost, and quality standards
Support and help to ensure the sourcing area is managed in the company’s best interests and in line with legal requirements and best practice
Maintain, support and control ERP standard procedures as well as category management principles and support in strategies
Achieving sourcing, procurement and supply chain objectives (P&L, relevant cost reduction initiatives, TCO approach) according to all local sourcing activities, as well as cross-functional cooperation with the local procurement management
Support of supplier negotiation, data and spend analysis, with the defined supplier accounts and matrix (global, regional and local accounts)

 
Essential Skills:

Solid experience as Buyer / Purchaser or equivalent positions in the UK market. Experience in cross functional teams and matrix organization
IT skills in in ERP, E-Procurement Solutions as well as high knowledge of Microsoft Office
Proactive procurement support and development, customer understanding, supplier market and customer awareness
High level engagement, relationship building, empathetic and adaptable
P&L bottom line cost reduction
Forecast accuracy and methodology adherence, initiative, delivering at pace
Expert understanding of the product range
Ideally educated to degree or relevant experience in Economics
