Business Development Manager (North region)

The field-based Business Development Manager will achieve sales and business targets as directed and pro-actively identify and develop new accounts within the Northern Region, operating strictly within FCA Regulations. To assist and deputise for the National Sales Manager when absent from the business.
You will cover the North West, North East and North Wales.
The successful field-based Business Development Manager will be rewarded with 25 days’ holidays plus Bank Holidays, a contributory pension scheme, life assurance, private healthcare and long service awards.
 
Overview of Responsibilities

To achieve agreed sales and business objectives relating to targeted growth.
To assist in the development and implementation of the Sales and Marketing Plan for products.
To regularly liaise with the Sales Manager, providing regular updates on progress and development, at the same time as highlighting any potential issues.
To develop key contacts at senior levels of major target organisations.
To make sales presentations to clients and work colleagues, as required.
To produce sales statistics and information on a weekly and ad hoc basis.
To attend regular internal and external Sales Team meetings.
To pro-actively manage existing, and develop new, customer relationships.
To attend trade exhibitions and industry events as required.
To develop and maintain competitor and market knowledge.
To strictly adhere to the Company’s selling practices and methods in accordance with FCA rules.
To deputise for National Sales Manager when absent, to include but not limited to, weekly reporting, conference call/s, monthly management reporting and sales presentations.
To undertake all Management Essentials training courses successfully
To assist with team recruitment and training where necessary

 
Experience / Skills
–       In depth knowledge of FCA Regulations, gained in a similar sales environment.
–       A highly successful track record of setting and achieving sales targets.
–       An in depth understanding of the insurance market and the construction sector.
–       To regularly liaise with the Sales Manager, providing MI information in order to notice trends and increase market share.
–       Experience in managing and mentoring individuals.
–       Excellent Customer Relationship Management skills with ability to identify and match products with new and existing customers.
–       Good at problem solving.
–       Proven experience dealing with demanding clients at all levels.
–       Good at making large financial decisions.
–       Proven ability to persuade and influence
–       Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
–       Ability to motivate self and influence others.
–       Strong commercial and market awareness.
–       Be able to deliver presentations to small and large groups confidently.
–       Good knowledge of a CRM system
–       Full UK driving licence
