Appointment Setter


  • Salary: £18000 - £21000 Per Annum + OTE
  • Location: Birkenhead, North West
  • Contract: Permanent

Working for this established and growing organisation, the Appointment Setter will be key to the continued success of the business. The Appointment Setter will provide a high-quality service by generating appointments for the field sales team, providing general sales support to customers on the full range of products and services with the aim of maximising business opportunities, leading to the generation of new business. To apply for the Appointment Setter role, you will have previous skills in appointment making/cold calling with experience of working within a target-driven sales support environment. Due to the nature of the role, the Appointment Setter will need to have excellent customer handling skills and be confident with overcoming objections and negotiating with clients : you should be able to evidence this from your career history. You will possess a strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook and have the capacity to learn new systems quickly. The Appointment Setter will have a clear understanding of the importance of exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To achieve agreed objectives, working closely with Sales and Marketing team, to generate new leads / appointments working from external and internal databases
  • Arrange appointments with prospect / target companies across all sectors
  • Follow-up with prospects until appointment is secured (where appropriate)
  • Execute telemarketing follow-up campaigns as directed
  • Keep up to date with all products and services and industry news
  • Issue appointment documentation following the confirmation of a booked appointment
  • Strictly adhere to the company’s selling practices and methods in accordance with FCS regulations
  • Research new leads using internal or external resources
  • Continually achieve set targets in relation to Key Performance Indicators

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in appointment making/cold calling
  • Professional telephone manner with experience of working within a target-driven sales support environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Excellent planning and prioritising skills
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work unsupervised
  • Achievement focused with the ability to use initiative, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisation ability
  • Good understanding of sales process
  • In depth understand of FCA Regulations and how they apply to products
  • Resilient – able to handle rejection and be persistent in approach
  • Ability to analyse and problem solve
  • IT skills
  • Up-to-date market and competitor knowledge with an ability to identify market opportunities
  • Proven ability to persuade and influence
