Technical Support Officer

The Technical Support Officer will provide high quality technical support.  The successful Technical Support Officer will achieve high customer satisfaction levels and make a real and demonstrable difference to the core business of all related services. The role is working from home and from offices in Chester city, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. The position is anticipated to run until February 2021.
Key Responsibilities:

Check and process a range of information, including financial payments, budget information, service data; deal with routine related queries, and advise supervisors of discrepancies in order to ensure payments are accurate and information is available and accessible.
Respond to non-routine and complex enquiries using discretion and judgement in forming responses so that advice on the area of work dealt with by the section is consistently given in accordance with agreed policies and within defined procedures.
Identify system development needs and the resulting changes to processes, procedures and skills across the service in order to ensure their continued appropriateness and relevance to business needs.
Extract, collate and present a range of statistical management information and reports to inform service development and improvement.
Provide routine operational support for business systems in order to optimise effective use and their application in support of service objectives.
Devise and maintain a range of data to meet the specific management information needs of the service in support of service decision making.

Essential Skills:

NVQ Level 3 or BTEC qualification in a technical or IT related subject. (Essential)
Substantial experience of the use data systems and related processes/procedures. (Essential)
Experience in the extraction and manipulation of service level data and information. (Essential)
Knowledge of service provision, structure and functionality. (Essential)
Data Protection. (Essential)
Able to translate technical information. (Essential)
Good communication skills (Essential)
